Ten Lizes is an early work by Andy Warhol, who became the emblematic figure of Pop Art. Elizabeth Taylor's face is repeated to the point of saturation on a canvas resembling a cinema screen. Using the screen printing technique, Warhol made the Hollywood icon into both a portrait of undeniable fragility and an allegory of a world dominated by the proliferation of images.
