King George and Queen Mary Silver Jubilee medallion
The images were taken by French journalists and hence have descriptions in French.
"22 Janvier 1935. Le premier specimen des médailles spéciales qui seront mises en vente au public à l'occasion du jubilé royal, en mai prochain. Elles sont de deux sortes, dont l'une coûtera 2 shillings 6 et l'autre une guinée. Voici l'avers et le revers d'une medaille d'une guinée."
"January 22, 1935. The first specimen of the special medals which will be put on sale to the public on the occasion of the royal jubilee, next May. They are of two kinds, one of which will cost 2 shillings 6 and the other a guinea. Here is the obverse and reverse of a guinea medal."

You may recall that a while ago, I spent quite a bit of money on philatelic preservation supplies. The reason is that I had acquired a collection of black and white press images taken at King George V's 1935 Silver Jubilee celebration. Some images are more interesting than others. I will slowly scan some of them to share. Some of the photos come with background information typed on very flimsy rice paper that over the years has become very fragile. I'm trying to preserve and protect it as much as possible.
