For reason that I'm not aware of, the Roosevelt Island aerial tramway rises much higher than the roadway of Queensboro Bridge, then it drops suddenly to land on Roosevelt Island.

Roosevelt Island is a narrow, elongated island just 300 yards east of Manhattan in the middle of East River. It's connected to Manhattan by this aerial tramway and by an under-water metro/ subway line. It's also connected to Queen by a bridge.
The Manhattan terminal of the aerial tramway is located at 2nd Avenue at East 59th Street.
