Norfolk Southern train 056 (military loads for the Port of Morehead City) rolling east through autumn fields of the coastal plain near Cove City, NC.
Leading 056 that evening was rare Union Pacific and BNSF foreign power, including a classic Santa Fe style "Warbonnet" trailing - a rare sight in eastern NC. The USMC vehicles are heading for the state port in Morehead City. From there, they will be driven to Camp Lejeune.
