Main Street, St. Albans, Vt., early morning Oct. 8, 2006

Main Street remains neat and clean. Although all of the stores I remember as a youth are gone, they have been replaced with much nicer shops, boutiques, and eateries. There is nothing about St. Albans that looks poor or cheap. In my day, the main industry was the railroad, steam, coal and dirty.
