The wrong road to Muker
Our drive to Muker was disrupted due to a road closed sign, there was no sign post or alternative rout shown, so we took the fork in the road and went for it.
Well as it turned out scenic wise it was the best rout but with 25% gradients and hairpin bends it was also a fun rout. It must be an amazing drive in the depths of winter too. The road to Buttertubs pass was closed for some reason, I do recall reading about a BMW having gone over the edge a few days previously, that may have been the reason but could not be sure.
We did drive over Buttertubs pass a day or two later and there was indeed a gap in the guard rail where something may have gone through, if it was the car then that would have been some drop.
The view from this spot was awesome with I believe Gunnerside showing up below us, our destination that morning was the old Surrender smelting mill of which photos to come.
