Between the Storms_Meadow_Yuba Gap
California is currently being hit by an Atmospheric River of warm moist air from the tropics. There is going to be a considerable amount of rain in the system and the snow level of around 8,000' and up.
About a week ago we had a colder arctic front come through with low snow levels to around 2100' and up. Its anticipated that last week's snow accumulations will be melted by this week's rain.
The flood control people are releasing significant amounts of water from the reservoirs to make room for this week's new runoff of combined rain & snow melt.
On a day of reasonable weather between the storms I ran up to The Sierra at about the 5-6,000' level to capture some snow images before everything melted.
Two locations in this series are Yuba Gap along I80 and a little further up, Cisco Grove and the South Fork of The Yuba River.
