Storm Hag

Not a soul was stirring in the early morning hours in Frankfort Saturday. Sheer ice laid beneath a dusting of snow atop the north breakwater, and even though the lake had settled the walk out required one's full attention. Admittedly, I find it a bit spooky to be on the pier in such conditions and everything looks slightly different while your feeling edgy. I like the feeling in small doses...it makes me feel like a kid again. New perspectives breathe life into the imagination, and when I finally made it to the end, far enough to see the westerly face of Elberta's harbor light...I realized mine was working overtime.
