South West Coaches Setra S250 Special in Sherborne. Dorset, 01/10/2011
As well as operating several older Leylands, South West Coaches also had a number of Setra coaches. R614AAU is an S250 Special with the big Mercedes V8 engine coupled to an Allison automatic gearbox. It was new to Skills Coaches of Nottingham, and was acquired by South West Coaches in 2005, along with sister coach R616AAU. It is seen here at The Sherborne Hotel, which is just off the A30 near Sherborne in Dorset, on 1st October 2011, I was on a short one way private hire to a nearby golf club. These V8 powered Setra's are very very nice coaches to drive, having no shortage of power and hiding their age very well.
