Triumph of Death

The Triumph of Death is a detached fresco (600 × 642 cm) preserved in the regional gallery of Palazzo Abatellis in Palermo.

Besides being one of the best paintings on this theme, it is the most representative work of the "international" season in Sicily, culminating in the reigns of Ferdinand I (1412) and Alfonso V of Aragon (who in 1416 made Palermo the its base for the conquest of the Kingdom of Naples).

The author's name is unknown and is dated to around 1446.
