Possibly a Tesco trolley. If so, likely to have come from Tesco Express on Blenheim Road, Greenmeadow, a fair trek from here. It is resting on the retaining wall which dammed the stream from Cwmbran Colliery to form an ill fated duck pond here. Having sought advice from someone who had farmed here for years on how to create the pond, they were told "don't do it". Despite his warnings that it was impossible to retain water here due to the old mine workings and that it would end up a boggy morass, they ignored him and went ahead with the plan. It very quickly drained and became what it still is, a fetid swamp.
