Timing is everything...
Maybe a good alternate title would be - "getting off a perfectly good horse...".. This is amazingly hard to do - capture the moment when the cowboy slides off the horse, and grabs the steer.. For one thing - they are going literally as fast as they can - all of them. And the moment it happens can be a half-second out of the chute - or halfway down the arena - you never know. Stuff like this really makes me wish I had more chances to get it right - and better seats.. I brought my old Canon, thinking it would be better to have the extra zooming power, but man - I missed my Nikon.
I DO like the way all three animals heads are in the frame, as well as both cowboys - and the "decisive moment" that I captured.. I only wish the light had been better...
