Seawall building blocks
Apparently this is Galveston's latest attempt to keep the sea at bay - giant Lego-like I-shaped concrete blocks that interlock with one another. And apparently, the results are spotty. Clearly the sand beneath is washing out from under the blocks, creating high and low spots, which will only get more and more pronounced as time goes by. It makes me wonder what they did with the thousands of pink granite blocks that used to be here...
