There was a dance routine last night on SYTYCD that took as it's theme, the tragedy of suicide. Nigel Lythgoe was clearly moved, and mentioned this Lennon quote that basically says that in time, everything will get better, and if it's not better, then you simply haven't given it enough time.
Maybe the dance was inspired by the death of Robin Williams, but it so happens that a friend of the extended family killed himself this week, distraught over the breakup of his family and the belief that it was never going to be 'alright' again..
He should have known that this wasn't the end, unless he made it so.. By ending his life in the middle of this crisis, he cheated himself and his children out of the chance to let wounds heal, and for things to get better.
The trouble is, we humans tend to get caught up in the fleeting moments of our lives, both good and bad.. You've got to remember that neither lasts forever, no matter how good or bad things seem. When things are great, savor the moment, knowing that it won't last forever.
And when things are crushing the life out of you, know that that won't last either.
