Authorities are raising sand level at Scheveningen beach. For this suppletion they need about 400.000 m3 sand, collected 10 km's offshore. Together with the sand, many fish, crustaceans, etc are deposited at the beach, attracting 1.500+ gulls, most Herring Gulls.
