Sleeping Beauty
I was in my garden right before sunrise and found this butterfly sound asleep on a leaf. It was a rather mundane scene and I walked away. I then realized that the plant was in a perfect location for a small dose of sunlight when the sunrise occurred. I quickly got my cam and tripod and setup in near darkness. The sunbeam finally arrived and back-lit the wings which is the effect I was looking for. The background was actually black due to the early morning low light. I added green to the background to add some color.
