UP 1982 North
This wild consist ended up on the MNLCB. They made it through KC quickly last night and had an ETA of about 0600 into Omaha - not ideal.
I woke up around 6 to see a series of messages in the local groupchat, thanks Randall the Vandal. Another northbound three trains ahead of MoP had an engine failure around Nebraska City and brought a fleet of five trains to a stop. The rescue engine took hours to procure, meaning I had a shot at this MoP/Espee pair.
I found them getting a recrew at Julian about an hour after technical sunrise. Finally an hour after official sunrise the smoke cleared and the traffic jam began to roll north.
