D-ABYA is lined up for take-off on Riem’s runway 07.

 

Lufthansa’s first 747 was delivered on 9 March 1970 and was deployed on the Frankfurt-New York route for the first time on 26 April 1970. Lufthansa was the first European airline to provide its passenger the opportunity to fly by Jumbo Jet, being the second international airline following Pan American World Airways (Pan Am).

To Tower Air as N603FF on 22Nov85. Leased to Saudia 10Apr96 and by 26Aug98. Returned to Tower Air. Ceased ops 10Oct00. Broken up around Oct01.
