OE-ILB is taxiing to Riem’s runway 25 for take-off. This airframe visited Riem frequently with Lauda Air in 1980 (noted on 3 September 1980, 6 November 1980, 11 November 1980). In August 1985 it returned with DLT, still registered as OE-ILB, and then re-registered as D-AELB with DLT and WDL in the later 1980s.

 

Lauda operated three FK-27s in the early 80ies. The aircraft shown here was lost as D-AELB ten years later. Conducting a test flight for FTG, it had to carry out an emergency landing in a snow covered field near Bergisch Gladbach; the pilots managed to get out, but the aircraft caught fire and was destroyed. Built 1977, retained by Fokker as PH-YEM. Leased to Libyan Arab 1978-1979. Lauda Air OE-ILB 1980, leased to Egyptair 1981-1982 and to Aviaco as EC-DSS 1983-1984. WDL D-AELB 1985, leased to DLT 1986, leased to FTG 1989. Written off in forced landing on a training flight near Cologne 24 February 1990.
