Vickers VC10 Srs1101

812

Gulf Air/State of Qatar Amiri Flight

A very rare sight at Riem and reportedly an emergency landing due to problems with the right inner starboard engine.

Information from flickr - thanks to heathrow junkie:

G-ARVJ c/n 812 - Vickers VC-10-1101 - delivered new to BOAC in April 1964, incorporated into the British Airways fleet ten years later. Leased to the Ruler of Qatar, from 1975 to 1981, the aircraft was then sold to the RAF where it became ZD493 and was used as a source of spare parts for the RAF's VC-10 fleet at Brize Norton.
