Idol of Mother Kausalya holding infant Rama at Ghuram, Patiala.

Lord Rama ruled from Ancient Ayodhya which was located at Ghuram in Patiala, Punjab, India. Local people believe that Mother Kausalya came here to her maternal home to deliver her first child Rama. Kausalya’s father was King of Kosala, the capital city of which was Ayodhya. Thus Ghuram could be Ayodhya. Rama may have ruled from here later for reasons we do not know.
