Approach

Xave guides our chopper to a landing at the boyscout campsite on mount Makiling. We were trying to see if I could be flown in on the day I would have to host one of my boss's aerobatic shows. Knowing that this field would be chock full of campers that day, we nixed the idea and decided to go by car.

AIRWORKS AVIATION COMPANY is a Manila-based flight school that offers a full range of aviation courses for discriminating customers.

It is senior instructor Meynard Halili who handles all ab-initio training in every aircraft. Mr. Halili, a former senior VP for Philippine Airlines, finished his many certification courses at Embry-Riddle, American Flyers, and Flight Safety International. He is an FAA-licensed CFI, who returns to the US yearly for training.

We are equipped with the following well-maintained (an understatement, actually) aircraft: Beech Baron 58, Cessna 172N Penn-Yan Superhawk, Bellanca Super Decathlon, and Robinson R22 Beta. The school also offers instrument simulator training in its FRASCA 132 simulator.
