Anti-Photography Harrier
The number of birds that have dive-bombed me continues to grow. I expect it from swallows, because they're defending nests on human structures. And red-winged blackbirds, because they despise my egg-shaped head.
I'm not sure why this northern harrier decided to swoop down at me as I was just wandering along a path at Summer Lake State Wildlife Area (eastern Oregon).
A moment after this picture the bird went out of focus, and I realized it had flown within my minimum focus distance (around 7 feet).
