Mermaids' Purses

Our Daily Challenge 30 April -6 May : Case

 

The big one is the egg case of Raja montagui, the Spotted Ray.

The smaller ones are of the Lesser Spotted Dogfish. now called the Small-spotted Catshark, Scyliorhinus canicula

 

I expect mermaids nowadays use plastic cards for their purchases, but we still find these on the beach.
