Hoverfly macro

The laurel at the top of my garden was alive with hoverflies buzzing around in the Spring sunshine and I was able to get a few good photos with a macro lens as they kept returning to the same leaf and my patience paid off!

 

It was amazing to see the detail captured in the flies large friendly looking compound eyes.
