Put out to pasture
Built in June of 1993 as Santa Fe 910 this C40-8W has ran its last revenue miles for its new owner BNSF Railway. Its been relegated to the deadline and is likely laid up pending sale. It used to haul the hottest trains across the fruited plain and hauled the heavy coal trains over Raton Pass. These old GEEZ aren't worth the money to rebuild and aren't nearly as fuel efficient as their Dash-9 and ES44 cousins. This old workhorse has been put out to pasture.
