MALA Islamic Art Class
On July 15 and August 5 in Chicago, MALA hosted workshops on Islamic Art that explored its history and rich heritage with a focus on its geometric foundations. Instructors Gabriel Rojkind and Aqsa Bano discussed the rich artistic similarities and differences across the Islamic world through time, as well as how to visually understand and deconstruct the geometry used to create tessellations. And everyone got to create some special Islamic art to take home!
