Santa Fe Chief # 2 engineer aside FP-7A 301
I was messing around with some time exposure/fill-in flash photography at the AT&SF depot in Fresno, CA. I had already exposed the engine to capture the headlight beam shining south when the engineer approached. I put in another bulb and pop it off creating this a image. Today, I see the classic indicators of a high seniority individual - a hat typical of railroad workers, glasses, the jacket and and the grip. Aside from the high seniority, he was also very friendly and engaging and invited me up after I asked if I could shoot a time exposure looking down the track from the cab.
