Sweet Shop on Kentmere Approach
This is an interior view of the sweet shop on Kentmere Approach in Seacroft. I grew up just across the road from this shop and have many memories of uying my favourite sweets and comics from here. This was taken in the early '60's when thje shop was ownred by Jack & Enda Morrell. When I was growing up in the late 60's & 70's the shop was run by Mr & Mrs Ward. The entire block of shops on Kentmere Approach was demolished about 10 - 15 years ago. The street is just a wasteground these days with housing some of the roughest families. you've ever seen. The council's housing allocation policies in the '80's ensured that decent hardworking families were driven out to be replaced by families of anti-social layabout scumbags.
