Freightliner Class 86 86251 + Class 90 90050

86251 and 90050 are owned by Freightliner and are currently stored at Basford Hall yard and are used as spares donors for other locos.

86251 still bears the livery of it's previous operator, Virgin Trains. Virgins' Class 86's were withdrawn as the Pendolino fleet began entering service in the early 2000's. 86251 is one of the last 86/2's to still exist in the UK. (86259 is another and is preserved in full working order. 86213 was preserved in the UK but has since been exported for use in Bulgaria. 86229 was another spares donor at Basford hall but has now been cut up)

90050 suffered a fire in the early 2000's while hauling a freight train, which severely damaged the loco to the point it was deemed uneconomical to repair and was withdrawn from service.

I managed to photograph it by sticking my camera in the air over the fence and using the screen as the viewfinder. Not too bad considering the situation I must say!
