How did you use design elements and principles to create depth?

The depth illustrated by the image is by the buildings and the wires moving about the image which I think is an interesting form of depth as you go

 

 

Depth

All pictures must have a foreground, middle ground and background

Not flat. There is a distance into the image.

 

Describe how you created depth in this image: the main focus to the photo is the foreground with the hanging shoes as its middleground sets lower, which are the buildings. The background is simple for its just the sky not distracting from its main focus.

 

2. Focal area

(Visual weight)

An area in the photo where the eye goes to first, sticks out, draws person in, main idea. Focal Area- An area that really draws the eye’s attention to that certain spot

 

Describe where the focal area is in this image: the focal area is the hanging shoes based on rule of thirds it hangs in the best position for it to be main focus and it stands out most in color and lighting.

 

3.Balance

(Symmetrical and asymmetrical).

Visual weight where you eye stops.

Symmetrical: mirror image balance, or same on each side of photo. Eye resets in the center.

Asymmetrical: visual weight leans to one side. Eye rests to one side.

 

What type of balance did you use in this photo? Describe how it looks in your photo. The focus is asymmetrical with the focus leading more to the left with not much to the right of the image.

 

4.Lighting

Lighting creates mood in an image

Look for the patterns

Describe how you used lighting and comment on how the light affects your image.

Lighting helps the focal area pop based on how it fights the plain sky the shoes contrast with darker coloring within the photo. The buildings also brighter to help keep the darker shoes pop.

 

5.Simplicity.

Getting rid of the excess imagery, Taking out visual information to bring out the focal point

 

 

Discuss what you did to simplify your image: around the shoe there isn’t much happening helping convey the focal point and keeping it relatively simple.

What type of line are you representing in this image?

Describe where it appears in your image. Horizontal isn’t terribly easy to notice but is the simplest and most noticeable line type within the image

Describe how you used multiple textures in this image:

The bricks within the buildings and the smooth look to the sky set nice textures within the photo

Describe how you created contrast in this image: there is relatively low contrast in which it drastically changes the image but there is noticeable darks and light through out.

 

10.Interesting perspective/point of view

It is easy to see that you thought about the point of view when you shoot the photo.

 

How did you use perspective in your image and what is interesting about your point of view? It looks nice and how its depth is noticeable and its perspective is simple but its really not groundbreaking still puts the image across

 

 

11. What do you like about this image and what would you do differently.

I would try and make better contrasts and the line types be a little more clear. More variety in color and sharpness of color within the photo.
