Packaging Project.

Label design for Windfall Cider, a Community project.

The Windfall Cider is made using a range of apples foraged from both (commercial and private) local population of Bristol (and the surrounding area). Participants can volunteer fruit trees or waste fruit from their gardens or businesses to be used for fermentation to make batches of cider. In return, they receive bottles of cider that constitute a percentage of the profits donated to local food banks.

What underpins the focus of this product is Bristol Beer Factory's desire to develop a community brand that utilises food that would otherwise be wasted, educate participants about care for their fruit trees and foster community engagement with the serious issue of food waste.

Realised in Adobe Illustrator: I chose to hand make the background by utilising pastels in order to suggest the idea of craft and nature. Then I scanned the different coloured sheets and I have put them on digital (in Adobe Illustrator) where I made the outlines. I chose this shapes because it suggest the idea of unity (by putting together different circles) and symbolising the apples.

I chose this typeface to relate it to the logo with Bristol Beer Factory.
