FF = Ford Fast

Mel Lawrence Photo • Doug Harrop Collection • August 30, 1973

Western Pacific 3012, 3005, and 3534 pull the Ford Fast along the iconic Keddie bridge in Feather River Canyon, California.

The Ford Fast, officially symboled on WP as the FF, was an expedited, premium-priority auto parts train operated by the Western Pacific in partnership with the Denver & Rio Grande Western, and Missouri Pacific.

The primary destination was the Ford Motor Company assembly plant in Milpitas, California, which closed in 1982.
