Belmont Luck
I’m often told that as a railroad historian and photographer, I am rewarded with a quality known as ‘Belmont Luck’. Being in the right place at the right time seems to have worked for me well in the past 47 years. A prime example is the Kodachrome image you see here. Union Pacific GP30 and GP30B locomotives are coupled together, front to back, in perfect order with screaming sunshine at my back. Perhaps it’s luck, or just persistence.
