GP30 Killer
When the Missouri Pacific became part of the Union Pacific in 1982, MoPac GP38-2s were reassigned to far flung corners of the combined UP-MP-WP system. Local freights in Utah were eventually powered by pairs of MoPac geeps. MP 2011 works in tandem with UP GP30 No. 856, returning to Provo from Geneva Steel on a hazy Dec. 29, 1985 afternoon. The newer 38-2s would lead to mass retirements of UPs aging fleet of GP30s.
