Started in 2008, the annual Community Mosaic Project is an outreach effort created by the Hardy Gallery as a means to connect the community and the arts, thus furthering the growth and awareness of the visual arts in Door County. The project has quickly become one of the Hardy Gallery's signature exhibits.
The Mosaic Project consists of 350 individual 6-inch by 6-inch canvases that are created by both professional and novice artists of all ages and abilities. These canvases are then constructed into a colorful mosaic that hangs concurrently with the annual Collection Invitational Exhibit. During the exhibit, the canvases are auctioned off in a "blind buy" for $25/each.
