According to the announcement today on the Government’s own website, the latest DAILY case numbers of people who have tested positive for Covid19 in England is 48,716. This is an increase of 43.3% compared with the previous 7-day average. Despite this, in a Pontius Pilate-like move, the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, is proceeding with his plan to tomorrow to do away with laws concerning the wearing of face-masks by the general public and of social distancing with immediate effect. This is in spite of of advice to the contrary by National Health Service Staff, the doctor’s and consultant’s professional bodies, and of many scientists. Johnson acknowledges that deaths are likely to rise exponentially and is prepared to accept this, and is neverthless abrogating his responsibility as the leader of the government of England, in favour of the individual choice of the individual on these matters, regardless of the effects of such choices on the general population. By so doing, in my opinion, he reveals himself to be a person unfit to hold such high office, which in turn must reflect on the Conservative Party who, not only put him there, but also continue to support him.
It should be made clear that he is to be made fully accountable for the resultant deaths arising from this pre-meditated action, and which he fully acknowledges are likely, as a crime against the people of England. Enough is enough. This man has already lied to Her Majesty the Queen over the Pro-rogueing of Parliament, and lied to the British people over the Brexit campaign. Not only that, he is also bringing the whole of the UK into disrepute by seeking to renege on an International Treaty which he freely entered into as part of Brexit. In addition he has the track record of leading this country into the Covid epidemic with the highest death rate in Europe! This must not be allowed to continue, the people of England deserve better.
