About the C-130:
The Lockheed C-130 Hercules is a four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft designed and built by Lockheed Martin. Capable of using unprepared runways for takeoffs and landings, the C-130 was originally designed as a troop, medevac, and cargo transport aircraft although its versatility has led to it being used in a multitude of different roles. The C-130 was first introduced more than half a century ago and is still in production today, with some 40+ variants in service with more than 60 nations world-wide. The C-130H, the most numerous variant, has a wingspan of just over 40 meters, measures 30 meters in length and is capable of transporting up to 19,000kg of personnel and equipment in it’s cargo hold that measures 12.2m x 3.0 m x 2.7 m (LxWxH). It has a top speed of 590 km/h (320 kn), a cruising speed of 541 km/h (292 kn) and a range of 3,800 km (2,050 nmi).

Built in my usual scale of one stud equals one meter (1:125), this is the largest aircraft I’ve built to date measuring 40 studs in width and 30 studs in width. I decided to build the C-130H as this is the version that is in service with the Swedish Air Force (Transportplan 84, or TP84). The model features spinning propellers, three opening side doors and an opening rear ramp. Inside the cargo hold, which measures 14x2x2 studs, it can fit two vehicles (RG-32) or 28 troops.
