Replacement rivet

I can live with the mismatched copper rivet just fine. As always, the problem wasn't dismantling the tension bolt, and through the careful use of an awl to line things up, I was even able to fit the new rivet into place despite the misshapen leather. No, the epic struggle came when it was time to reassemble the nose and tension system. After half an hour of sweating that had me lay everything down and go inside to fix supper, I came back out and was able to somehow pry it all back into alignment.
