Spectacle Abrostola tripartita

13/06/2021: 2 X 20W actinic trap: Christleton, Chester.

 

A species which always makes me smile, and with relatively little in the trap I spent some time photographing this one from various angles. The role of the ‘spectacles’ in the camouflage scheme seems apparent.
