Trzebnica - Sanctuary of Saint Jadwiga Silesia
The Sanctuary of Saint Jadwiga in Trzebnica was established on the site of a monastery founded by Duke Henry the Bearded in 1202, under the influence of his wife, Jadwiga. The monastery was the seat of the first female order in Poland, intended for Cistercian nuns, who were brought from Bamberg in January 1203.
The monastery includes the Chapel of Saint Jadwiga, built between 1268 and 1269, which is entirely in the Gothic style.
The first church was built in the Romanesque style between 1208 and 1219, and was thoroughly rebuilt in the Baroque style at the end of the 17th century. Artistic works were carried out to stimulate pilgrimages, and the chapel containing the tomb of Saint Jadwiga was displayed.

Sanktuarium Świętej Jadwigi w Trzebnicy utworzono w miejscu klasztoru, który ufundował książę Henryk Brodaty w 1202, pod wpływem swojej żony Jadwigi. Klasztor był siedzibą pierwszego w Polsce zakonu żeńskiego, przeznaczonego dla Cysterek, sprowadzonych z Bambergu w styczniu 1203 roku.
W skład klasztoru wchodzi wybudowana w latach 1268-1269 kaplica św. Jadwigi, która jest w całości w stylu gotyckim.
Pierwszy kościół wybudowano w stylu romańskim w latach 1208-1219, który w końcu XVII wieku uległ gruntownej przebudowie w stylu barokowym. Wykonano prace artystyczne celem ożywienia ruchu pielgrzymkowego oraz wyeksponowano kaplicę z grobem św. Jadwigi.
