Alanya is a city founded in the 2nd century BC by pirates. In 44 BCE Marcus Antony, blinded by love, donated the city to Cleopatra. The area was famous for the production of wood that the Queen needed to build ships. In the 13th century, the area around Alanya is occupied by Sultan Aladin. The old city of Alanya is situated on a peninsula (hill). It is surrounded by massive walls with a citadel and a palace inside. The citadel has the ruins of the church and barracks, and a mosque. To the west of the fortress there is a beautiful beach called "Cleopatra's Beach". On the eastern side there is the "Red Tower" and the port.

Po stronie wschodniej znajduje się "Czerwona Wieża" oraz port.
