NGC2264

NGC2264 represents this region which contains the Christmas Tree Cluster, The Cone Nebula and the Fox Fur Nebula. It's about 30 light years across and located about 2,600 light years away in the constellation of Monoceros. The many hot blue stars of this cluster both ionize and illuminate the enormous gas clouds that formed them.
