Kursalon Hübner
The Kursalon Huebner is a building of the historicism in the Italian Renaissance style in Vienna. It is located in the John Street 33 (Johannesgasse) in 1st Viennese district Innere Stadt.

In place of today's municipal park in the early to mid 19th Century was the so-called water Glacis, a resort just outside of Vienna. In a spa pavilion was served healing and mineral water for drinking cures. After the demolition of the Vienna city wall and the construction of the ring road on the orders of Emperor Franz Joseph I the city park was built and opened in 1862. In order to provide more opportunities for recreation, a new Kursalon was (somewhat more to the west than the original spa pavilion) built by the architect Johann Garben on behalf of the City of Vienna in 1865 and in 1867. Originally the building should serve as a cafe and once more for the serving of healing water, after the opening on 8 May 1867 were even forbidden pleasures. As this concept was not accepted, already on 15 In October 1868 took place the first concert of Johann Strauss (son) whereupon the Kursalon turned into a popular dance and concert venue and a meeting place for the Viennese society.
1908 leased Hans Hübner the Kursalon, which from now on was called Hübner's Kursalon and later Kursalon Hübner. Until the mid-20th Century here took place numerous events and social events. In the late 1990s, the city of Vienna sold the Kursalon, which is now owned by the former tenant, the Huebner family.
Today, the Kursalon has established itself as a venue for balls, weddings and various other events in an exclusive ambience. It includes four rooms on two floors and a 1,000 m² large terrace. In the Kursalon per year about 500 concerts are taking place which are visited by 200,000 music lovers from around the world.
