Repeating Patterns & Leading Lines
This project was admittedly one of the easiest. However, though the easiest it was also one of the most fun. This project opened my eyes to the world around me. It showed me how many repeating patterns there truly are. It showed me how you walk and drive on leading lines every day! It really lifted my spirits for the tough week during the project. It made me focus on more than just myself and it helped me stop overreacting to every little thing because I realized that there is so much more than just my problems.
The repeating patterns was fun for more than just the imaging aspect. The most fun part was finding a repeating pattern that wasn’t in your face. I could have done a fence, house windows, stairs, anything that you encounter on a daily basis, but I didn’t because I wanted to break the routine. I decided to do the windows and design on the PAEC because it has been a big part of my 2 years at CHS. I have had many memorable and fun moments with the crew, with cast members, and just going to my girlfriend’s concerts in there.
The leading lines aspect was a bit harder. I again wanted to challenge myself and shoot a leading line that didn’t seem conventional. I decided to use my girlfriend as the subject and use the walkway by the music rooms as the leading line. I used my girlfriend as my subject because she is a big part of my life and I felt that I wanted her at the center of another picture, much like she is the center of my life. The walkway leads to the music room where she plays her instruments to practice for games, practice for concert, or learns something new.
The project as a whole was very fun. I enjoyed every aspect and for once felt like we had more than enough time. It presented a challenge that I truly enjoyed. It was fun from start to finish and it really helped me open my eyes to more than just myself. Overall it was a great project.
