Repeating Patterns and Leading Lines
This project surrounding photographing repeating patterns and leading lines was a very interesting project to complete. I had a lot of fun looking around my area for patterns that I do not normally notice and realize their beauty.
For my repeating lines picture, I photographed the pattern of the tiles on my roof. This is my favorite picture out of the two I took. I like this picture because of the vibrancy of the colors of the tile as well as the angle from which I shot the picture. I think that this angle made the photo more interesting than if I took the picture from straight above.
For the leading lines section of the project, I had a little more difficulty finding a good location to shoot. I took pictures at five different places near me and had a hard time choosing which one fit the criteria best. Ultimately I chose this picture of the fences leading up to a trail that I found. I really like the bright white fences in contrast with the dirt ground and the tree in the background, which emphasized the line in the middle. I am somewhat happy with the outcome of this picture, although I wish I could have found a better, slightly more interesting location.
Overall, this project helped me to notice things around me that I would normally ignore. I am really happy with the finished product of my repeating patterns portion, however I think that I could have done better with the leading lines picture.
