Federal Realty Bldg

Designed by architect Benjamin Geer McDougall, Oakland's 14-story Cathedral Building (AKA the Federal Realty building), was the first Gothic Revival skyscraper to be built west of the Mississippi. The structure was completed in 1914. The flatiron building is currently on the National Register of Historic Places
