Lighting 102 - Position | Distance
Napoleon Dynamite was my victim for exercise 2 of Strobist Lighting 102.
I thought this was a very useful exercise, it shows how the darkness of the background can be controlled by how close the flash is to the subject.
In all three of these photos, Napoleon was about three feet from the background, and the camera was about three feet from Napoleon. It's easy to see how the background changes dramatically based on the placement and power of the flash.
