Touch
Touch is a mailable artwork (mailed as exhibited (unprotected)) with laser cut imagery of the Artist Mierle Ladderman Ukeles in her 1979-80 performance Touch Sanitation where she thanked and shook the hands of 8500 NYC sanitation workers. The piece is my way of thanking the US postal Service for their hard work…on the backside of the piece there is a special image and message that only the postal workers see during the mailing process…and unlike gallery viewers they are allowed to touch the work.
