Paper plant

This is French Paper on the St. Joseph River at Niles, MI photographed from the ruin of the Niles Board and Paper plant across the river. I was testing a Leica Elmar 35mm f/3.5 LTM lens for filter vignetting. This photo is with the A36 clamp-on yellow grad filter. This filter clamps on the outer ring at the front of the lens. I also tested 19mm filters which screw into the filter thread in both the Series IV adapter and as a direct screw-in filter. In no case was there any vignetting. The yellow grad filter worked the best here as it darkend the sky without darkening the lower portions of the photo.

Photographed using a Cannon III rangefinder using a Leica Elmar 35mm f/3.5 lens and a A36 Leica yellow grad filter on Kodak Tri-X 400. Exposed EI 400, developed in Kodak HC110 B 6.5 min at 68 F.
